Dr. Norman Betts

Meet Dr. Betts

Dr. Betts has been practicing oral and maxillofacial surgery for 33 years and works in both our Ann Arbor and Chelsea offices. With his extensive education, combined with years of experience working as an Associate Professor at two universities and then Chair of the U of M Health System Hospital of Dentistry, few oral surgeons can compete with the knowledge that Dr. Betts brings to our practice on an everyday basis.

Dr. Betts graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Michigan, followed by his graduation from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. He completed his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Michigan Medical Center and simultaneously earned his Masters of Science degree in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

Dr. Betts entered the academic community first serving as the Assistant Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania, then in New Jersey as an Associate Professor/Chairman of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. In 1999 Dr. Betts returned to Michigan and accepted a position at the University of Michigan as Associate Professor/Chair of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery/Hospital Dentistry. Prior to joining our private practice in 2002 Dr. Betts served as the chair of Hospital Dentistry in the University of Michigan Health System.
